Bug-chair: bit of the 50's feel and a whole lot of classic

This chair was chosen at the Habitare fair in the year of its release 2018 as the most interesting product of the year, and for a good reason!

Classical starting points

The bug chair was designed by Aino Michelsen as a commission work for Interface. The starting point for the design work was the crossing of a bat chair and a pilot's chair, which, however, would have the characteristics and fit of our products: the chair was expected to be soft and nest-like. This assignment came to life perfectly when the designer presented the first character models of a sympathetic, slightly bug-shaped chair. After a few structural refinements, the new classic was born!

This very comfortable armchair has taken its place in the collection and is one of our best-selling pieces of furniture.

Two different models, countless upholstery options

The frame of the chair is made of metal. It is available both without a headrest and with a headrest. The collection also includes a footrest that makes this soft chair a relaxing paradise.

The back of the chair and the lower part of the seat are made of thick leather, the color of which can be chosen from several options. The upholstery options for the chair cushions, on the other hand, are almost limitless. We have selected some good options in Interface fabric trolley (available at our retailers) , but we also upholster the seat cushions of this product in whatever fabric you choose.
